Breaking Down or Breaking Open

"Something I didn't want to happen, happens. I feel the resistance build within. I feel the pressure to control what is obviously out of my control. I become aware of what I'm doing-I become aware of the choice either to break down or to break open." Elizabeth Lesser, Broken Open, p. 256

How aware are you that when bad things happen or something that you didn't want to happen, happens, you have a choice of whether to break down or break open? This is what Elizabeth Lesser's book, Broken Open, is about. It's about using all our challenging life situations to open, on deeper and deeper levels, to our true, core essential selves.

Unfortunately, many people do the opposite when deeply challenged-they numb and hide and avoid. They are afraid that if they let themselves break open to their deeper, spiritual selves, they will not be able to handle the painful feelings of heartbreak, loneliness, grief and helplessness over others and circumstances.

When we don't allow ourselves to break open, compassionately embracing our emotions and discovering the huge spiritual reservoir of strength that lies within, we break down. We become anxious, depressed, angry, or numb and frozen. We may turn on those we love in an effort to not feel so helpless, or we may numb out with alcohol, drugs or food. We may vegetate in front of the TV or turn to Internet pornography-something, anything, to distract from the pain of life that we don't want to face.

In making this choice to abandon ourselves rather than compassionately embrace our emotions and allow them to release in healthy ways, we not only break down into misery, we also break down our bodies. The repressed and unexpressed pain of our heartbreak, grief and helplessness over the situation eats away at our immune systems, eventually causing illness.

Consider allowing deeply challenging life situations to break you open-over and over. Through breaking open and having the courage to compassionately embrace and express your heartbreak and grief, you also break open to the love, peace and joy that occupy the same place in your heart. If you close your heart to pain, you also close your heart to love and joy.

When you allow yourself to compassionately embrace the pain of life, you find that you are not alone. Breaking open with a deep desire to learn about what is most loving to you and others, is an invitation to spirit to fill you with the strength you need to manage the challenges.

Imagine the freedom you would feel if you no longer feared the deeper painful challenges and losses of life. Imagine the freedom you would feel if you knew that by opening to compassion for yourself, you could find the deeper knowing, strength, worth and wholeness that lies within your own heart and soul.

I have broken open many times and I'm sure I will many more times. Each time, I emerge on the other side with a greater appreciation for this journey called life, which challenges me to open my heart more and more-to break open my heart to the depth of the love that is here for me and for all of us, and to stay fully present for the sharing of that love.

I don't look forward to the challenges that break me open, but I also no longer avoid them. I know they will come, for this is life, and I also know that, each time, I will choose to fully feel the pain so I can continue to fully feel the love and joy.

Shock, Horror - A Person Brave Enough For Self Discovery Reels in Awe

Is the purpose of life to grow personally and thereby play your part in the growth of humanity as a whole? If so, then it begs the question who are you really?

You could say you are a father, a daughter, a brother, a girlfriend or a friend. You could define yourself in terms of your personal relationships to others, but when you think about it, this is more about them than you. It is also who you are in connection to someone else. This is one of the hats you wear, but it isn't who you are.

How about what you do for a living? I am a cleaner, a flight attendant, a mechanic, a teacher, a farmer, a doctor, a public servant... They are all roles you fulfil each day, but are they really who you are? If so, what happens when you change jobs or you retire? Do you lose some of who you are? Do you change who you are? Do you stop being who you were and become someone else? I don't think so.

Is it what you own? Are you defined by how many or how few possessions you have?

How about what you look like? Surely we could determine who you are by what you are on the outside? No?

You could also say that who you are is a product of your upbringing and the decisions you have made in the past. You could say that except that in the next second you could make a choice which changes who you are forever from that point forward.

So, if you're not your relationship with others and you're not what you do for a living, what you own or what you look like and you're not your past... then WHO are you?

Whatever answer you come up with, who you are is so much more than any of those things. You are bigger than the roles you undertake, your body, the things you own, what you do for a living. You are much bigger than what has happened to you in the past.

In fact, I think if you were ever brave enough to strip away all the layers you cover yourself in... all the roles, the beliefs, relationships, customs, habits and culture, external experience past experiences that you would find something so magnificent and pure and glowing with such strength and brightness that you would have difficulty comprehending your personal magnificence.

It is almost as though it is safer for us to hide behind the massive wall of things which limit who we are, rather than face the enormity of who we are and what we are capable of.

What if humans were capable of being and doing so much more than they allow themselves to? What would it mean for the world if we all stepped into who we could truly be? What if we allowed ourselves to step into our personal magnificence?

I think the outcome of each and every one of us stepping up as we did, extending our hands to help others step up would be the type of world and the type of community I would love to live in.

What do you think?

Keeping a Journal

For your Journal, I suggest a Notebook that you love, always. You will know when you've found the right kind of notebook or paper when it makes you swoon and begs to be filled up with your recordings. Whether it is the feel of the paper when it has words written on it, it's smell, the cover or the messages within. Choose your notebook carefully. Write record anyway from your heart.

Paper needs ink and I like to see and feel how the ink moves on the paper. New creative tools are fun. I will use blue, black, pink, green pens etc., I write in big and I write small. I write using all upper case and/or all lower case letters. This place is for you, so design it for yourself. There's nothing like putting pen to paper to instil you with a sense of optimism, anticipation and excitement about your goals or aspirations. The act of writing something down always makes it more real and more concrete than merely thinking it. When you commit to writing down your thoughts and experiences you have put them into a solid form. I believe there are benefits to keeping a Journal:

o Knowing yourself better. Writing can help clarify your thoughts, your emotions, and your reactions to certain people or situations. In addition, as you read back through past journals, you'll have ample evidence of the things that make you happy and those that are distressful. Journaling is a great tool for self-discovery that will help you build self-confidence and self-knowledge. While writing in your journal you will find yourself identifying the values for which you stand. You will also get to know your processes; how you think, learn, create and use intuition.

o Capturing your life's Story. A journal is a catalogue of your memories. Over time, your memories become an irreplaceable treasure that can be looked at years from now, by you, or, if you wish, by others. By journaling you will capture not only your life, but also the lives of all the people that surrounds you. You are also creating a record, and with that record in hand it is easier to see patterns, changes, and shifts in your life

o Reducing stress. Writing in your Journal means that you don't carry as much of what you have written about within you. It is on the paper or in the computer. By journaling, you give yourself a powerful form of self-expression, and through that expression you can gain clarity, release, and relief. You will feel calmer and spiritually at ease after a journal writing session.

o Enhancing intuition and creativity. While writing in the pages of your journal you will find your inner voice awakening. Journaling will help you in the interpretation of your symbols and dreams, and can increase your memory of events.

o Strengthening relationships. Writing about people you know will help you to understand them better and put you in touch with your own feelings about them.

o Better organisational skills. By structuring yourself to write regularly, you automatically develop stronger organisation skills, such as list making and time management. Also journaling your goals and what you want to accomplish in your life is an excellent tool to help you get those things done. You can even create a personal checklist of 'things to do.' Through journaling you can actually see and better understand what you want, what is important to you, and how you feel. And after organising your thoughts you can create goals and resolutions to support what you are thinking and writing about.

o Better focus. While writing in a journal you create more awareness, and therefore more focus on the issues that are important to you. The routine and habit of journaling means making time for yourself, and, when you set aside time for yourself, you can feel the benefit and gain from doing something specifically for yourself. When you're busy and stressed with a mind full of a whirlwind of disconnected thoughts flitting here and there, writing about the event or issue will help bring focus and clarity. It will also help you decide on which action to take, or option to choose.

o Better solutions for your problems. Writing about problems gives the right side of your brain food for creative problem solving. It's amazing what happens when the creative part of your nature starts working on a problem. You'll soon find solutions bubbling up from your subconscious mind.

o Personal growth. Journaling is a vehicle for expressing and creating. It will improve balance and well being and bring you closer to the authentic you.

Life's Little Rules for Living

Cicero famously said, "A man's own manner and character is what most becomes him." Our character is what shapes our reputation. Our manners are what uphold our character. Manners are not about us. They are about others. How we treat others will determine how we are treated in return. When we act with deference toward others and treat people with graciousness, civility and respect, we edify society and the role we each play in its course. The higher we place the importance of civility and respect, the more it becomes a staple of our society and culture.

The rules of civility are universal. No matter your education, your religion or your heritage, we all share a common role in the advancement of our culture. The very least of our actions toward others speaks volumes about us. The power behind such small words or good deeds is what causes others to recognize the greater good for which we aim. We each share responsibility to set the right example. How do we do so? It starts with respect. These are what I call "Life's little rules for living". They are the foundation upon which we can frame a better world for all.

The first little rule is, "Never read something intended for someone else's eyes." It is important to honor and respect the privacy and communications of others. Doing so halts any misunderstanding or insult. Little rule number two is, "Never listen in on a conversation not intended for your ears." This serves to guarantee that we will not find ourselves the victim of offense. We have no business being offended by something not intended for us. Rule number three says, "Never repeat anything told to you in confidence." We've all had experiences when we've shared something in confidence with someone, only to find out that person broke the confidence and repeated our words. There would be no hurt feelings and surely no argument among anyone if we all kept private discussions to ourselves.

"Never spread rumor about anyone else", is rule number four. This is probably the hardest rule because humans have the overwhelming urge to sensationalize things in life. This may put the Enquirer or TMZ out of business, but it would serve to protect everyone's private lives- starting with our own. And if you do promise to keep what is said in confidence, this serves to uphold little rule number five which states, "Never fail to be of your word." You may have a perfect credit score, but if your word is worthless, you will suffer a loss of respect and credibility among your peers.

We all have an opinion. Our opinions are shaped by our life's experiences. No two people have had exact experiences and no two opinions are alike. That is what makes life rich and exciting. We each have so much to offer and learn from one another. Far too often, we use our opinions to shield ourselves from other viewpoints. We sometimes criticize other opinions without regard for a person's feelings. This leads to rule number five, "Never criticize someone's opinion". We are free to disagree, but to criticize someone because they think differently is disrespectful.

Politeness is like a flower rich in beauty and color. Respect for others is one of the best ways to demonstrate our civility. This leads to my last and final little rule for living, "Always be mindful to mind your own business." How we would wish to be treated is how we should treat others. That is a timeless principle which never dies.

Making Peace With Not Having Children

I have always longed to get married and have a family and I have always believed I would. It never occurred to me that it wouldn't happen, not until recently. At 38, I thought: there's still time. At 39, I thought; there's still a little time. And at 40, I am finally facing the reality of the reality: It may not happen.

From age 20 till now, as I have been "waiting" for my prince charming to come along (all the time believing he would), I went out and lived an extraordinary life. I went to college, taught English abroad and traveled around the world. I chased my dreams of working in politics all the way to Washington, DC. I followed every impulse of challenge and adventure... and for the most part, succeeded. Everything that I dreamed of (that I could do on my own) I accomplished. The one thing, I could not do on my own, the one thing that required someone else, has stayed elusive.

Although I have lived a life many might relish, I look at the lives of those who have families, crazy homes full of children and pets, incessant noise and booked up activity schedules and I sigh.

The strange thing is that I wouldn't give back what I've experienced, at least I don't think so. I look around and see wonderful parents and not so wonderful parents and know that I would be a good parent. Sometimes I can't believe the fortune bestowed on people who don't seem to appreciate their child-abundant lives. I have friends and clients who feel the same way, having not had their own children. Some are sad, some are angry and some are resigned. But pure peace on the subject has yet to settle on my heart.

Of course, some say; "well if you really want one, what is standing in your way?" Yes, I could have a child on my own, I suppose. For some reason that doesn't quite resonate with me, but it still is an option. The man I'm dating now doesn't feel passionately one way or the other but I get the feeling he'd be fine without.

So that leaves me again with the longing I've had all my life. Sometimes I wonder if it's a longing to join the "club". I've always been an odd bird of sorts, doing my life differently than most. But on this one thing; I want normalcy. I used to think that something was wrong with me, that I was flawed in some way. I've long since put down that baton in favor of more self affirming and self loving beliefs and yet the experience still beckons from out there, somewhere.

I can see that it is just something else that I 'long' for and I realize how long I've lived in 'longing'. That was a funny sentence but I think it's worth saying. I've been longing for new and different, far away and exciting. Deep within me has always lived the seed of longing and perhaps even with a child, I might still long for something else. Longing is a wish for what we do not have. Longing is a habit of running away from what is. Longing is living in a dream.

I delved deeper into my feelings around this when I turned 40. While in a Life Coach training I chose to identify the underlying wish. What did I really want? Was it a child? Was it a family? Was it a 'normal' life? What was my true desire?

One of the main things I uncovered was that I want a legacy. I want to leave a mark that I was here, that I have lived, that my life has meant something. For if my family treedoes literally end with me... perhaps my name could live on in some way. I want to connect to the tapestry of humanity. I want to leave an indelible thumbprint in time. Something that says my life mattered. That it and I weren't just a blip.

As I wrote that... it occurred to me... maybe it's okay to be a blip. Maybe. And that really is what part of this is about... dealing with one's own mortality. Maybe we feel that if we have children, some part of us will live on or they will remember us and talk about us and through that we will live. Yes, facing our own mortality is certainly part of why this is so hard.

And as I consider my legacy, I look at the life I've created. I truly feel that the work I do helps people. And at this time, if I died tomorrow, I feel secure in the knowledge that many would say I had touched their lives. I continue in this vein daily but the longing remains.

And as I write this; tears begin to well up in my eyes. Why is this so visceral? That's part of it too... it IS visceral, it is biological, it is ingrained socially, physically, emotionally and every other way it can be imprinted. It's like not eating when you know you must for your survival. It's that deep, at least for most of us.

Coming to terms with not getting the one thing I have always wanted feels like a monstrous wall to climb, a gigantic rainbow to erase, an entire ocean to drink. But the truth of the truth is this: It is what it is.

It is what it is.

I am not married and I have no children. This did not just happen to me. It is of my own doing. I could have married someone in the past. I could have gotten pregnant. I could have done many things but I held out. I held out for the fairy tale. I kept myself in longing. And that is mine to make peace with. Would I change things if I could go back? Probably not. So, I stand back and I say... I wanted that, I tried, I dated lots of people, I was open-minded and it still did not happen. The peace in the statement is that I did my best and it still did not happen. I am smart, I am attractive, etc. and it still didn't happen. Okay, well, okay.

Sometimes we pray and sometimes the answer is "no". And that is the reality: The answer has been "no". The answer may not be "no" forever, but it has been. Peace will be found in my acceptance of this answer. Peace will be found in my heart's longing taking a rest. Peace will be found in embracing what is.

And if the choice were given me: to have this life with no children or to not have this life at all, I would choose life!

I am so grateful for this experience, grateful to be living. And though I may yearn for a particular experience in this life, not having that one experience does not diminish the miracle that this life has been. I am overcome sometimes with the beauty of it all. It is deep and wide, joyful and sorrowful, it has a crazy beginning and an unknown end. And for whatever happens or doesn't happen in between, each us... must make our own peace.

To your peacemaking.

As a Life Coach, I'd be remiss in not offering some tips:

Write it out - get all your thoughts and feelings out on paper. Keep writing until you've exhausted what is inside, all of it.

Talk about it with a trusted person - Talking and feeling about it is much healthier than keeping it all bottled inside.

Uncover your true desire - Underneath, what is the wish? To love? To be loved? To carry on a name or gene line? To have a family? To create? To have a legacy? Dig deep and find your true desire. It may not be what you think it is and may be fulfilled in another way.

Grieve the original dream - Grieve it as if it was a person you've lost. Eulogize it. Grieving how things might have been and truly letting the concept go... can give space for a new dream to be born and to thrive.

Consider alternative ways to accomplish your goal - Work with children? Adopt? Babysit your friends' kids, volunteer for a charity that helps children, become the greatest Aunt or Uncle ever, consider (intentionally) dating someone who has kids, become a foster parent, etc., I know a man who donated an organ in order to fulfill his want to leave a legacy. Let your heart open and your mind meander as you consider ways to achieve your desired outcome. Is having your own biological child the only way? If so, go to a doctor and find out exactly how possible or not possible it is. Look your options square in the face and truly consider them. If you're serious, get serious.

How to Think Positive Thoughts

How to think positive thoughts that's the big question!

Every thought we have is not always strong and focused. The largest part of our day is exhausted or spent in so-called minor thoughts, which are just fleeting thoughts that come and go and generally does not help us in being positive.

Other types of thoughts that are not little or fleeting, gather around similar thoughts. They are all united around the same topics and created beliefs.

We can produce our own thoughts or we can adopt them from others. Some of our thoughts were gathered throughout our childhood.

These thoughts were fundamentally not our own. We borrowed them from our mother and father, family and later from teachers and or religious leaders.

And now lets check to see how these two groups of thought can make an effect on our life.

1- Big thoughts or beliefs

If a few thoughts are collecting around the same thought and forming a belief, then those thoughts are filled with significant emotional charge. These thoughts will attract in your everyday life the same people and circumstances that share the same energy.

We make our own reality through our contact with the wonderful power of freewill.

If our beliefs are positive they will bring us some resolution to all the challenges that we are faced with even during the most inconvenient circumstances.

Having thoughts of overall success combined with a positive outlook will bring you to a life full of balance and harmony.

Wherever we go, even if we change the nation we live in, our thoughts stay with us. Our beliefs are continuously bringing into our lives the same circumstances and events.

The main problem that most of us fight with everyday are negative thoughts and Ideas, which we bring to life by believing in them.

Hopefully you now understand how much damage that you can do to yourself and others in your surroundings by not having a good positive outlook.

In this way you can and will attract negative influences into your life and not even realize that you are doing it. By not being positive you will affect everyone and everything in your life.

2- Small thoughts

Small fleeting negative thoughts that can temporarily fly through your conscious mind and just as quickly fly away, could produce bad moods, and unpleasant feelings, without knowing why or the logical thinking behind it.

The trouble with small thoughts coming in and out of your conscious mind is that they often times come back, and every time they do unfortunately can get stronger and more convincing. On average 70 percent of peoples thoughts are negative from day-to-day.

Joy in life and your inner energy are stolen everyday when you think in a negative way.

Manifesting and growing into new beliefs is exactly what minor negative thoughts can do if left unchecked. This could attract more negative things or events into your life.

The freedom of choice is in our hands. If you implant the thought and believe that everyday you attract what you think. We can create miracles in our lives and improve it drastically by thinking positive.

In that way we can discover two very important lessons which are everyday optimism and an existence full of joy.

If you open your eyes you will see the Law of Attraction is working all around you. In your life, in your relationships, in your workplace you can attract everything that you want.

You just have to think about what you really want.

Your life can be manifested by your thoughts into a physical reality. Do not disregard all what you have read here or the basic principles we have discussed here. Do your best not to make a poor choice.

Often times in life we do not realize or understand certain things that happen in our life but we sometimes use them to help ourselves. By learning how to think positive thoughts and by connecting that with being positive in our everyday life, we can all make uplifting thoughts to inspire ourselves and others close to us.

The Law of Attraction can be explained in three words - Thoughts Become Reality.

The Puzzles of Life - Can They Give Us a Push Towards Inner Serenity?

Human beings are caught in the habit of thought-running as they face problems in living. This pushes the awareness outward; so much so, they lose contact with their inner being. As a result, complications arise in their lives and they are unable to face life's challenges squarely. A healthy avenue to step out of this scenario is available through paying attention to the puzzles of life. If people are not wedded to some belief system, they have the opportunity to apply themselves to the puzzles with the freedom to discover what lies beyond the apparent. Such an approach augments the non-verbal understanding of the undercurrents of life. Thus, one does not fall a prey to the inclination "One believes what one wants to believe." It is like the approach of a scientist - eager to find the truth rather than look for evidence to prove one's belief. However, the difference here is that while the scientist has to rely on the verbal knowledge, the soul searcher (SS) banks on direct awareness assisted by intuition. No doubt, the scientist too uses the intuition but he or she has to fit everything to the bricks already laid while the SS can fly free towards the truth.

The closer the SS is to his inner being, the deeper the serenity. It is a progressive evolution. Thus, the serenity is not a matter of completing the journey but being on it and sensing the serenity with increasing intensity. This does not decrease his interest in worldly matters because the puzzles he faces are, indeed, intertwined with his mental disposition and his worldly interactions. Hence, it is a harmonious blending of both spiritual and mundane movements that leads to vibrant living. Primarily, it deepens the spiritual awareness by bringing the SS ever closer to his inner being.

So, let us consider some of the puzzles that can help us take the inward journey. They can arise as pensive questions from one's life situations, from watching a movie or reading a story and the like. The SS applies himself or herself to the puzzle and let the deeper intelligence reveal the hidden truths. There are many issues in our lives that can give us a push in that direction. They serve as guide-posts and keep us focused on the intriguing puzzle of the inward journey. Some of these arise as questions in the following manner:

1. Why is it that, even after practicing a religious system for years, freedom from fear, attachment and hatred does not take place? The practice only puts a lid on them and makes it appear as if they are gone.

2. Why are the 'non-believers' too - the atheists and agnostics - who put themselves against the 'believers', do not find that freedom?

3. Can the philosophical content of mortality serve as an affectionate guide into the unknown?

4. What roles do joviality and cheerfulness play in the inward journey towards self-discovery?

5. Is the beckoning of sorrow in life an invitation to visit the hidden corners of ourselves?

6. Unknowingly, we build a psychological wall around us through thoughts of 'I', 'me' and the 'mine'. Are there pointers in our daily life that can alert us to that fact and, perhaps, open a door in that wall?

In Chinese philosophy, Tao is considered the Ultimate Truth or Divinity and Taoism contains the associated philosophic tenets. Their book 'Tao Te Ching' deals with Taoism. There is a poem in it that has puzzling questions for the reader to reflect on, somewhat along the lines of the puzzles above. Some of them are given below:

1. Can you go beyond the habitual mind, hold to the One and never depart from it?

2. Can you bring down your breath to such a mellow state that it resembles the breath of a baby?

3. Can you purify your esoteric vision and wipe it until it is spotless?

4. Can you be like the female and allow passivity to govern the response to life?

5. Can you love all beings on Earth and govern them without being known?

6. Can you be aware of the four corners of the Earth and not interfere with them?

Similar issues are discussed in this website on spirituality. It would be good to apply ourselves to such puzzles as above and lead a life of intensity that is intrinsically spiritual rather than practice a discipline to reach a predetermined, ego-satisfying end.

Job Interview Tips to Nail That Job!

Thousands and thousands of people are looking for jobs. Armed with their exceptional educational backgrounds, excellent training, and more-than-adequate experience, these aspiring applicants knock on the doors of giant conglomerates with the intention of nailing their desired jobs. The competition is fierce. It is a dog-eat-dog world out there.

Naturally, companies will hire only the best. So how do you distinguish yourself in sea of qualified applicants? What will make you stand out and impress your prospective employers? To make sure you do not get left behind, you should follow some of these fabulous job interview tips:

1. Be prepared.

Prepare for the interview by doing research on the company and the job position you are applying for. Search for information online, pick up some company brochures, and prepare your updated resume. Compile a list of the common interview questions and ask a friend to do some run-throughs with you. Do not memorize your answers but be sure to be confident about the key points you want to make. If possible, try searching online about the person who will interview you.

2. Be attentive to details.

Another effective job interview tip is to dress appropriately for the interview. When applying for any kind of job in an office, men should don on a business suit, and women should wear a pantsuit or conservative skirt. For non-office positions, this level of formality is not as necessary. Nevertheless, your attire should be neat and clean. Jeans, sneakers, or T-shirts are a definite no-no.

Be early. Arriving approximately fifteen to thirty minutes before the scheduled time is best. Upon arriving, check your appearance by going to the nearest restroom. You will need to create a good impression early on, so your grooming is of utmost importance. Bring a pen, notepad, and a few extra copies of your resume. You should also bring along any other pertinent documents.

3. Create a good impression.

Exude confidence while remaining courteous and polite. Smile as you greet the interviewer and use his or her last name with a courtesy title. Shake hands firmly and wait for the invitation to sit.

Be mindful of your body language. Sit up straight, and avoid folding your arms, covering your mouth or frequently looking away. Maintain eye contact throughout the interview.

Be professional. While jokes can be a great way to ease the tension, they can be risky in a job interview. Listen attentively and ask relevant questions to show your interest. Talk at a moderate pace.

4. Be honest.

Dishonesty can be harmful to your chances of getting the job. If you do not know the answer to a question, admit it. Further questions may reveal your bluff, so it is better to stick with the truth. It also won't hurt to add that you are a quick learner when acquiring new knowledge and skills.

When asked about accomplishments, emphasize those that are directly related to the job you want. Do not exaggerate your accomplishments and give credit to those who helped you. Do not pad your resume. Potential employers often check up on these things.

5. Follow up.

Before you leave, ask your interviewer on how the hiring process will proceed, when they are likely to make a decision, and if there is any more information that they need from you. Do not forget to ask for the interviewer's business card and the company's other contact information.

Call and inquire if you do not hear from the company when you expect to. Sometimes, the process just takes longer than expected. Calling will show that you are still interested and will raise your name again.

Yes, the competition is fierce. But by following these job interview tips, no company will pass up on the opportunity to have you as one of their own.

Want a Positive Outcome? A Few Things You Can Do

First you need to find something to appreciate. In every situation, there is something to be thankful for. Find it and hold on to it. Focus on that thing that is good and praiseworthy and don't let the negativity of the situation have the bigger hold.

Sometimes it is very easy to have that feeling of gratitude. Everything seems to be going your way, you feel alive and gratitude just seems to flow.
It is not much work to be grateful when everything is going well.

But sometimes it is not so easy. When things are not going your way or when you do not feel good, trying to find a point of gratitude can be a reminder of what you don't have. It can increase your awareness that you don't have the things that you want. So what do you do?

Well first, in those moments where there is so much good going on, where it all feels right and nothing could mess it up, in those moments, be especially thankful. Don't forget to be full of gratitude when it is easy. Remember to give thanks when things are plentiful. This sets a pattern of gratitude for the times when things might be a bit lean.

Then in the time when gratitude does not come easy, do your best to think about something just a little better, but don't push it too far. Just direct your thoughts towards the big picture. Where if you really look at it in light of the world or the universe or your lifetime, you'll see it's really not that big a deal.

Remember that Law Of Attraction does not care if your thoughts are negative or positive, it is simply a reflection of the thoughts you hold. So don't hold on to those negative thoughts, replace them with the big picture and not only will you probably see that it is not as big a deal as you have made it, it also will probably not make much of a difference this time next year.

From this vantage point it becomes easier to find a positive thing to think about.

So when we develop the habit of gratitude Law Of Attraction responds with more to be grateful for. And if we will be especially grateful when it is easy to do so, this sets the pattern of finding things to be grateful for even when things aren't looking so good. Then when it is most difficult to find even one thing to be grateful for, step back and look at the bigger picture, try looking at it from a distance. It then becomes easier to see that the situation is probably not so bad after all.

Do God, Your Higher Self, or Vortexes in Sedona Exist or Not?

Have you ever been to gorgeous Sedona, Arizona? I was there recently on the Airport Mesa Vortex. Being in Sedona is like living in a postcard; the scenery is so beautiful it feels surreal. As you probably know, Sedona has various spots spread out around the valley among the rock formations that are designated as Vortexes. A Vortex is a place exhibiting unique geological energies that can increase and enhance intuition, insight, intention, vitality, and even wisdom.

Whether you believe these Vortexes actually exist or not depends on you. Many people come to Sedona to meditate, pray, and perform rituals on the Vortexes. These people have deep and profound experiences at these sacred spots and absolutely validate their existence. Others come to Sedona with an open mind and visit the spots out of curiosity just to see if they experience anything; some do, some don't. And others have no interest in the Vortexes, believe they have no power or existence in the real world, and that they are the made up fantasies of people slightly "off their rocker."

You don't have to have an open mind and believe in the Sun to validate its existence; anyone can look up in the sky and see the brightly burning ball of light. Hello! There it is! So what is it about a phenomenon like the Sedona Vortexes that results in a wide variation of human experience - from those who discover a profound reality, to those who believe it is all a ridiculous made up fantasy?

The first reason there is a wide variety of experiences when it comes to some elements of life has to do with how easy, or difficult, it is to experience something. Some elements of life are easy to validate as "real," and some are more subtle. Note: this doesn't mean they're less powerful, just more subtle. Because of that, they're more difficult to access and experience.

Many things in life are very easy to experience: the sun, a cloud, the temperature of the air, the hardness of cement, the smell of a rose, the sound of a symphony. To experience these things as real, we use normal and established senses. If we can see, touch, taste, smell, or hear something, we say it's "real," it "exists in the real world." On the other hand, if we cannot, most people would have no experience of it and would say it does not exist. But is that really true?

To know if something exists or not, we need to have SOME experience of it, beyond the thought in our head. Otherwise it's really just a made up fantasy that has no existence in reality for us. So, HOW do we experience the more subtle phenomenon in our world? How can we validate their existence? Answer: we need to either enhance the power of the senses we do have, or develop new ones.

Examples of the first method are very common in today's scientific world. Take the electron microscope. This is a man-made enhancement to our sense of sight. With it we can see things that we normally cannot see with the naked eye. Both the microscope and the telescope, enhancements to our sense of sight, have opened up whole new worlds of experience (and reality) to us.

At this point I want to point out something very important: just because you initially cannot experience something with your normal senses, does not mean it does not exist. Just because you can't see an atom, doesn't mean atoms do not exist. We know they do. Also, with your normal senses while on earth you cannot see that the world is round, yet I bet you believe it is round. Obviously, things can exist in reality that we cannot experience with our "normal" senses. All you can truly say is "I have not experienced it" or "It does not exist FOR ME." From there, determining whether something is real or not for you, becomes more about seeking the experience of it.

So, back to our question of HOW do we experience the more subtle phenomenon in our world. The first is by man-made enhancements to our senses, which we just talked about. The second is by naturally enhancing our own normal senses and developing new ones (e.g. the sixth sense). How? Mostly by paying attention to them. Where attention goes, energy flows. You can expand your senses just by paying more attention to them. We've all experienced this before. For example, you can enhance your hearing by really listening to someone. Really listening is paying attention - bringing your awareness to a focused point. You can do this with all your senses. You could say this is a "presencing" practice - the practice of being fully in the present moment. When you are fully in the present moment, all of your senses are enhanced and you come alive. You see things you didn't see before, hear things you didn't hear before, and feel things you didn't feel before - LIKE A VORTEX!

You see, the main barrier to experiencing the more subtle aspects of living is being up in the head thinking, analyzing, and judging (this is Human Doing vs. Human Being). If you're up in your head, you are not in your body and you're not open and fully present; you are doing-thinking and not being-here. Therefore, you cannot access the more subtle aspects of the present moment. Heck, most people are not seeing, hearing, and feeling most of the NON subtle aspects, never mind the very subtle aspects! If you wolf down your food at lunch, barely tasting a thing, then race out to this vortex-thing in the desert, chances are high your experience will be no more than one of simply standing on a rock and naturally you will conclude "There is nothing going on here."

In addition to this natural tendency towards doing-thinking, we've been trained by "normal life" to need explosive experiences to experience anything at all. Look at the Hollywood movies today - the experience is like being hit over the head with a two-by-four with 10 million watts of surround sound blasting out and 3D images practically punching you in the face. Many people have become so accustomed to this "in your face" level of experience, that unless life is coming at them at this level they have no experience at all and "nothing is happening."

I've been practicing presencing for more than 10 years now. I drop down into my body, out of my head, and fully open up to the present moment. I bring my awareness to my breath, relax, and open every cell in my body. When I first got to the Airport Mesa Vortex I was awed by the view, but I was not having any "profound" experience of energy. However, as I found a place to sit - away from others - and slowly moved into my state of full presence, I experienced an amazing energy moving through my body, illuminating and opening all my chakras, and became so resonant with joy that it brought tears to my eyes. I experienced an extraordinary integration with nature and everything around me. I was one with all and very happy to be there. I felt dizzy after the experience and somewhat floaty, it was like walking on air. For me, there was an unusual and very powerful energy available at this Vortex spot, but only experienced when I became fully present, open, and available to it. For me, the Vortex was and is a profound reality, something that actually exists in the real world.

So do God, or your Higher Self, or Vortexes in Sedona exist or not? Are they part of the real world, or are they a made up fantasy? The answer is up to YOU. You get to say what's true and real for you.

Try This:

Take a moment and reflect upon HOW you determine what's real for you and what's not. How much do you rely upon what others say? Think about the more subtle and "hard to believe" aspects of your life and living. Do you automatically dismiss the possibility that something exists if you have not experienced it yourself? Or are you more open to the possibility and willing to say "I have not experienced it so it does not yet exist FOR ME."

For those areas of your life that you find hard to believe, see if you can adopt the more open-minded perspective of "Just because I have not experienced it, does not mean it does not exist," and exercise your willingness to explore these subtle and harder to experience aspects of your life. This is the first step to actually experiencing them and making them a reality in your life! What an adventure!

Developing your access to the more subtle energies in the world and tapping into the extraordinary power they have to offer is a major key to your mojo!

Creating a Mind at Peace

What if everything you ever did was right for the moment?

You're not wrong. You've never been wrong. Everything is in its right place. How does that feel? The words above come from a talk I was listening to by Rikka Zimmerman. Talk was light and fun and those words really felt great to hear and feel.

Why do these words feel so good?

I realized the words felt so good, because of all the time I've spent worrying, "did I do the right thing, f@#! me I screwed up again and others are depending on me, Ug that person is so much more knowledgeable than me... I will never measure up, I wonder what those people are thinking of me." Letting go of all those thoughts, I feel at ease.

Arrrrrrrrgggggggg, these thoughts mess me up so what is their purpose?

I believe ultimately we all want to feel love and give love and be love. And I believe we are all naturally moving in a more loving direction, although, we often get in our own way. Our less than positive thoughts can have a place in our lives as long as we don't get stuck repeating them. One of the presuppositions of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is "there are no mistakes, there is only feedback". So ideally we would focus on these thoughts for a fraction of a second, make course corrections in our lives, and move in a direction that feels more loving and empowering. For example, when I'm angry, because I didn't stand up for myself with my boss, lover, or friend, I can decide to learn assertiveness and act differently in the situation next time.

Ha, ha, ha! If only it were that easy. Can it be?

Most of our actions occur without us thinking about them based on belief patterns that most often developed during childhood, and are stored at a subconscious level. Most of the time this is useful so that our heart keeps beating and we can dress ourselves without thinking too much, but if we have actions we want to change it gets tricky. We changed our kitchen around a few years ago and it took months before I stopped going to the wrong cupboard for bowls. This is the work of the subconscious mind. So deciding to act more assertively next time doesn't always mean it will happen. We can change, though, and it can be smooth with the right tools. From my experiences, I have found NLP and hypnosis to be two of the most powerful ares for changing subconscious beliefs. You can find practitioners who can help you with belief changes, but you can also do a lot of the work on your own. Search the web for self hypnosis and you will get a lot of free information. Go to http://www.naturalhypnosis.com and you can received free sample mp3s. I'm also a fan of Steve G. Jones' audio programs. When you join his email list you will receive special offers, some recordings discounted as low as 1 dollar. The audio programs I listen to lately involve music that uses positive subliminal messages mixed with binaural beats to create brainwave patters that make one's brain receptive to taking in information. I know that is a mouthful, but I find, when I use this music on a regular basis, it is very effective. I've been feeling more relaxed lately and a lot more confident and success driven.

Are there some Quick Tricks for immediate change?

So I know all that above, but I want to get these thoughts out of my head now. Part of the problem may lie in our body. Because of our busy, stressful lives we are more often living off the fight or flight response and depending on adrenalin to keep us going. An increase in cortisol in the body, which is generally thought of as the stress hormone, may be partly responsible for our racing thoughts. Doing activities like exercising, meditation, yoga or deep belly breathing can calm our body down and lead to a calmer mind. Personally, I've really been focusing on my breathing. A few deep breaths and I can really feel my body relax. It's hard to measure just how much this is adding to my calmer attitude, but I think it's a stacking process. Keep using tools that help a little bit and they add up to a big change. Exercise is also so important to my emotional health. The tricky thing is, at the time I need it most, I often don't feel like exercising. So its important to realize how helpful this tool is or whatever tool you are using so you can make it a part of your lifestyle. Almost 100 percent of the time I am so glad I went for a run and feel so much better after. Another very simple yet effective tool for clearing our minds is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I won't go into too much detail, but you can look up more information on it. I've only started using EFT but I've found it to be very effective for both clearing my negative feelings and building confidence. I'd heard about it from a few people over the last few years, but brushed it off. This year I finally tried it out and it works so check it out. One of my favorite teachers of EFT is Brad Yates.

Benefits of a Peaceful Mind

And the great thing about being in a peaceful state, besides the fact that you feel great, is the amazingly positive impact you have on others. I know when I'm in a peaceful state I am more apt to help out around the house, give money or lunch to the homeless, and have joyous conversations with strangers. It's also so much easier to take inspired action when in this state. When I'm feeling great I eat healthier, exercise more, get my to do list done and so on. So loving ourselves and taking care of our mind can have a tremendously powerful impact on the world.

The Open Gate

Have you ever wondered how your life would look if it was written in a book? Would it be a best seller, top of the charts?;Or would it be sold at the dollar store or lost in a dusty dark corner of a used book store?

Looking back at your life, there were so many opportunities to capture; Because of circumstances, you might have had to pass many of these by- you were a child, you had a child, you were taking care of an elderly parent or sick spouse, your work schedule was so hectic, your kids schedule was crazy. But in the meantime, what happened to you?

There are so many possibilities in the universe and time isn't being kind. Tick, tock, your life is running out. It's time to live life like you are a dog and someone left the gate open.

There is a whole world out there, waiting for you to unearth it. What will you discover, once you allow yourself to venture out?

Our bodies are only transitory, and can hold us back. After all, there are only so many hours in a day and we succumb to sleep and health issues; but how many hours, minutes, precious seconds are we wasting to the everyday grind? Yes, we have to work and pay the bills but YOU are important as well. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. It has to be fed just like your body. And, in turn it feeds the soul, which keeps the body healthy and you happy. And when you are happy, it translates to others around you... the kids, the clients, the boss, the spouse.

The hardest thing when you are a type A personality is allowing yourself time. And Time is not a gentle conqueror. It feeds. It steals and then, it's gone.

If you took the time to find your 'open gate', what would you discover? Would you troll the stars online? Would you connect to a needy soul and brighten their lonely life? Would you venture out of your comfort zone and see what is beyond that gate?

Fear is a big motivator; But so is time. You are in control of your own ship and your destiny its course. If you read the book on your life, would you be happy with the ending? Would the journey along the way be an adventure you would want to read about?

The world is waiting, out that open gate. And whether you experience it in just a few minutes a day or take time to smell the roses, it is up to you to take that first step. Don't miss that open gate... it is out there, waiting for you.The first step of the rest of your life starts with the journey of a single step. Enjoy the adventure that awaits!

Before You Ascend, Activate Your Power Center

The Solar Plexus Chakra

Do you want to take back your power - to recognize yourself as the All- Powerful Creator expressing through a physical form?

Does it terrify you to imagine yourself as "all powerful?"

Do you fear that you cannot trust yourself to handle the power?

Do you believe that "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely?"

Is there any way you can take full responsibility for everything in your life as your own creation and still live with yourself?

Expressing Power Through Divine Love

Do you believe that Love - Divine, Limitless, Unconditional Love - is the most powerful force in the Universe?

Do you know that, when you are fully Standing in the Power of your Loving you are a force that no one and nothing can touch?

Isn't it time to create this way of being and living on Earth?

Your Power Center Must Be Fully Activated For You to Ascend

The Third Chakra or Solar Plexus, located in the area of your stomach, is your POWER CENTER.

As a Divine Creation, you are also a Divine Creator. You create everything in your life -- yes, YOU... already... CREATE... EVERYTHING... you experience in your life.

When you fully accept this, then you are able to consciously choose what you are going to create.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is directly connected to your Mental Body. Therefore...

whatever you BELIEVE to be TRUE for YOU is constantly being expressed through the POWER of your Solar Plexus.

Since power can be used in a multitude of ways, there is a great deal of difference between power used with Unconditional Love and power used with little or no Divine Love.

The idea that "the end justifies the means" completely ignores the TRUTH that the means used to achieve an end totally controls the end that is experienced.

Most of us fear our own power for a variety of reasons. Here are just a few:

  • We've been told that we are sinners.
  • We've had past life experiences where we abused power.
  • We've abused power in our current lifetime.
  • We've experienced abuse from others who hold power.
  • We've experienced very strong emotions, like rage or lust, and we no longer trust ourselves.
  • We have limiting beliefs about the use of power (that it corrupts, etc.)
  • We are afraid - terrified - of ourselves.

The answer to all this FEAR is LOVE.

The answer to fearing our own power is Divine Love.

When we have grounded fully into Mother Earth and are Rooted in our Root Chakra, when we have connected fully into our creativity and eliminated emotional choas from our Creativity Chakra, then we are truly ready to take conscious control of the Divine Power in our Solar Plexus Chakra.

The irony is that we already use our power.

  • We may use it to hide from ourselves, to see ourselves as small, weak, helpless, passive beings.
  • We may use our power by giving it away to others when we refuse to accept responsibility for our actions, thoughts, emotions, and decisions.
  • We may hide from our power by using drugs, alcohol, TV, overeating, or any other addiction (gambling, shopping, whatever),

The fact remains that ultimately we are the ones in charge of our own power. When you take back your power, to become FREE. So why wait. Visit your Power Center, bring the LOVE from your heart into your Power Center, and release the fear. Then you are truly becoming the Master of your own Life.

Namaste,

Nedda

Be Meticulous In Building Personality

PERSON+ABILITY= PERSONALITY

The ability to define the qualities of being a person is personality. That means a person should be able to know his/her skills, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, qualities and what not. By virtue of this, we can achieve wonderful and colourful results, bring laurels to our life and can create a congenial atmosphere for us as well as for others. Acknowledging oneself is basically the first and most vital way to improve one's self-confidence. Many a time, individuals wish to improve their self-confidence, by projecting the identical form of self esteem that they see other individuals possessing, and so they desire to act just how those people do. Outgoing and extrovert people could be outgoing naturally or may possibly talk a great deal to hide their nervousness; however that doesn't mean they are always comfortable and contented. On the other hand, a person who is normally introvert and shy could be very confident and self-assured. Hence, we should not always look at transforming ourselves to resemble others. On the contrary, we should concentrate on realizing who we are and be comfortable with that in order to witness drastic changes in personality.

Strong Character Shapes Personality

Building a character is a million dollar question for every individual. No other person can be instrumental in making you mentally and physically strong and powerful. None can turn you from weak to powerful, unsuccessful to successful and from nothing to everything. You have the ability and potential of becoming everything and anything. In today's materialistic world there is a rat race for achieving things at supersonic speed and there is chaos all around. Thus, there is sense of great dissatisfaction. We wish to achieve more money, more comfort and luxuries as compared to other. This hunger for unlimited luxury has overpowered us to such an extent that we do not hesitate in fulfilling our desires even at the cost of spoiling and ruining our relations with others. In today's earthly world, the success of an individual is judged by his/her materialistic achievements. Therefore, we adopt all fair and unfair means to attain materialistic components. If we look around, we can find many rich and luxurious people but not good human beings. People who are engaged in achieving materialistic things remain busy in developing only one aspect of their personality. The result is that their entire personality becomes imbalanced and controversial. Any person, who wants to attain the highest pinnacle of success in his/her life, should meticulously work upon building a progressive and strong personality.

In the rapidly changing world, new values, opportunities have appeared in the fields of industries and management. People whose hearts are filled with human values, are blessed with special abilities and welcome new possibilities in life. There is certainly ample scope of progress for them. It is evident that most of the people working in any industry are able, agile, experts and inspiring. Undoubtedly, automation plays an eminent role for industrial growth, but we can not ignore human contribution for the same. In fact, it is the ability, behavioral excellence, enthusiasm and dedication of the people that can also give a proper shape to the organization. Excellence means to have complete control over our work ethics, aims, habits, experiences and passions rather than become their slaves. There are immense possibilities within us to develop our personality with strong character. We must recognize and understand them to succeed. The wealth that we have earned is not important but what is important is the means we have adopted for acquiring that wealth. The seeds of great personality are hidden in every individual and we have just to unveil them.

Be nice to others

It costs nothing to be polite and nice to others, but it definitely makes us rich. It is a relief for tired and nature's best gift to the sufferer. The million dollar sentences "You have a nice personality/ you are a very nice person" make us feel honored and pleased. Personality should be pleasing and attractive so that it should impress others, but it can not be achieved if we are not polite and soft spoken. Good qualities can only be constructed on the foundation of politeness. Polite and cultured people are clear and transparent to all; such people have a Midas touch in their conduct and behavior, and miracle in their deeds too. They cast permanent impression on the mind of everybody with their etiquettes. Useful and sweet conversation is considered a blessing for speech. Many a time we spoil our work by unnecessary dialogue and conversation. Society gives respect to a person who has control over his speech and everybody wants to converse with a person who is sweet spoken. That is why we should always inculcate sweet and soft spoken words in our speech. Sweetly spoken words have their own advantage in making a great personality.

Do retain superiority

Human being is considered superior and intelligent as compared to rest of the creatures. Life is like a blooming flower and it is the supreme gift of nature. Life is full of sorrows and happiness. When one comes the other goes, but we should try and develop such an attitude that we may be able to lead a happy and balanced life under all circumstances. A good natured and jolly person, who is always smiling, attracts people towards him/her. It has been wisely said that "Thornless roses have not yet been invented". So people who wish to become beautiful and popular like a rose must learn the art of smiling and developing in life which is full of thorns as well.

To reach the highest pinnacle of success we must have the ability to judge people correctly. It has been emphasized in holy books that we must behave in a desired manner. We have the treasure of trust and respect, but we should not waste it on anyone who is not worthy of. Nothing is going to work out if we blame our fate and circumstances. In fact, one has to reflect enthusiastic and pleasant personality to be the role model for others.

Proof That God Is Real

According to the ideology of what makes something scientifically proven, "organized physical evidence" proves the existence of that which is not seen. For instance; Nobody has ever seen a dinosaur but yet scientists agree that bones and fossils prove that they existed. Bones and fossils are tangible organized physical evidence. Based on this school of thought the existence of GOD is more real than the existence of dinosaurs. Think about this. Lets say there was a gigantic explosion in a forest. Afterwards you walked through that forest and found a house. You've lived in that area for years and never notice a house there before that explosion. Would you then assume that somehow that explosion caused that house to be built by violently causing materials to be lodged into the air? The nails accidentally fell through the wood and landed in the perfect spot? The cement mixed with the right elements and accidentally took on the perfect shape? Of course not! You would obviously think that something so perfectly intelligently organized had to be made by some intelligent being. Its the scientific rule of organized physical evidence. The constructural organization of such a finding scientifically proves that some intelligent being existed before and during the building of that house. It would have been mathematically impossible for that house to have been built through an explosion by accident. Based on this scientific school of thought lets look at some undisputable facts that prove GOD is real:

  • Look at molecules. If molecules were made by accident then why are the different groups uniformly the same and operate as one concise entity? For instance; oxygen molecules(O2) are colorless, tastless, and odorless. If they were not colorless it would distort sight. If they were not tasteless it would disrupt taste in our mouths because the mouth is constantly filled with oxygen. If they were not odorless it would interrupt with our sense of smell. Oxygen is perfectly designed to sustain all life on earth. Oxygen molecules on earth usually exists in the form of O2, but also exist as O3, ozone, mostly in the atmosphere but also exist on the surface in smog. O3 helps protect the earth from harmful UV rays from the sun. If it were not for O3 plant life would be destoyed and humans would suffer major health problems. How could a molecule so perfectly intelligently designed to sustain life on earth be constructed by accident? (Think about the house in the forest)

  • Take a look at the sun's relationship with the earth. The sun is 30,000 times larger than the earth. One million earths could fit inside the sun. And yet still the sun is only a very small object in the universe. There are stars more than 4000 times larger than our sun!!! The sun happens to be at the perfect size to sustain life. The sun's temperature, color, and diameter are determined by it's mass. Bigger stars are much hotter and bluer than our whitish-yellow sun. Smaller stars are much cooler and redder. If the sun suddenly got too big or too small it would interrupt galactal gravitation, drastically alter temperature, and disrupt equilibrium in our solar system. Now look at the sun's distance from earth. The sun is 93,000,000 miles away from the earth. If the sun were too close we would all surely die. If the sun were too far we would also perish because its the sun's gravitational pull that keeps the earth from falling down into space. The sun and earth are at the perfect mathematical distance! Just look at the fact that the earth's gravity pulls away from the sun while at the same time the sun's gravity pulls the earth towards itself. This gravitation combination is so mathematically perfect that it keeps the earth in line with the sun and visa versa. Now take a good look at the sun's temperature. The surface, or photoshere, of the sun is approximately 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit (5,500 degrees Celsius). It is believed that the sun's core is 27,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit. If the sun's core were to suddenly increase another million degrees the surface of the earth would become much warmer causing the glaciers to melt, and the oceans dissolved carbon dioxide would be added to the atmosphere due to increased evaporation, and there would be a drastic increase in life threatening health problems amongst humans, animals, and marine life. The sun is at the perfect distance from earth, has the perfect size, the perfect temperature, and sustains the perfect gravitational combination with earth. How could a relationship so perfectly, intelligently, and beautifully designed to sustain life be constructed by accident? (Think about the house in the forest)

  • Take a look at the size of the universe in relation to every thing that exist in it. This is a remarkable relationship! The universe has no end. It goes on forever in every direction. It is believed by many scientists that the universe is constantly growing. Just like trees can produce trees of its own kind, and animals can produce its own kind, some believe that space is self producing everywhere in the universe simultaneously. Wow!!! Science has also estimated that there are more than 100 billion galaxies. It is believed by some that they appear to be moving at incredible speeds as a result of the universe constantly growing. Some even believe that the constant growth of the universe has something to do with the creation of gravity. While universal growth is occurring everywhere so is gravity! Gravity gives shape to the orbits of the planets, the solar system, and the galaxies. Gravity from the sun extends throughout and beyond the solar system, keeping the planets in their orbits. Gravity from the earth keeps the moon in orbit. Constant production of Gravity and growth of the universe are holding all the planets and stars in place. How could something so perfectly, intelligently, and beautifully designed to sustain and encompass all physical existence be constructed by accident??? The clever design of the universe is above and beyond proof that GOD is real!!!

The Law Of Attraction and Business

There is a lot of excitement around the concept of the Law Of Attraction at the moment. The Law of Attraction simply states, "Like attracts like". This means that the thoughts you are putting out will attract back to you similar realities, so that your thoughts and intentions become self-prophetic. In business, this can be very powerful and you can use "The Law" to attract new clients, get great media coverage, loyal employees, business opportunities and empower and motivate yourself and any staff members you may have because you will be able put out thoughts and intentions of success and attract these things into your business.

Here is a bit of historical background on what the Law Attraction is: Thomas Trowad was one of the earliest thinkers of the New Thought movement and he explained that "thought comes before its physical manifestation". This means that the conditions you experience in your business (and in your personal life too) first originated from your thoughts.

When you start out in business, you are excited and optimistic that you will find success in your enterprise. You can visualize having more time, making more money, travelling more and growing your spirituality. However, something happens along the way and you start to work harder, earning less and having little time for yourself or for family, this is the situation I found myself in personally whilst still discovering the law. I really was no better off that when I was working a 9-5 job, in fact I had much longer hours running my business.

What happens at that moment? It all depends on the vibration or intentional thoughts that you are sending out to the Universe. Most of the times we do not even know that we are projecting negative thoughts and emotions and thus attracting back these things. When the initial euphoria of starting a business is no longer alive, it is easy to give into negative states of mind, notably worry and doubt about the performance of your business. And, because the law of attraction is always at work, you will attract situations of scarcity, under performance, low sales and return on investment.

However there is hope because this also works the other way. When you project mental images, thoughts and firm intentions of success in your business, the concept of the law of attraction & business begins to work for you. But this is more than just luck and positive thinking, though positive thinking does play a big role in your attracting of business success. For the law of attraction & business concept to work for you, you must first realize that you are a spiritual being and so are your customers. You and all other living things in the universe communicate through spiritual energy. Visualization is how you make use of this spiritual medium to create mental images that are then projected to the Universe and send back to you in their physical form. Thus, you need to be sending strong intentions or visualizing what you want for your business.

Is it more customers? More sales and revenues? More referrals and new, bigger customers? Expansion into other towns, cities or countries?

According to the law of attraction, visualization is much more than dreaming and hoping that customers will come. It is setting powerful intentions that customers are coming to buy from you, that they will be willing to spend money on your products, and they will refer others to your business. Visualization also comes with emotion. By mixing thought and emotion, you are automatically setting the Law of Attraction into motion and the universe will begin to fulfil your desires.

It is important that you do not permit feelings and thoughts of doubt and fear to contaminate your positive mental images. If this happens, you will receive mixed results, for example, one big customer comes, buys from you for a short time and then leaves.

One way to look at it is this way: ask, believe and receive. Ask by visualizing, believe by having faith that the business success you have asked for is already yours, and then anticipate what you have asked for. As you anticipate, you have to put yourself in the emotional state you will be in when you receive the conducive business conditions you have asked for.

The mistake that most of use make when using the law of attraction in regards to business is that we forget to draw the line between deliberate attraction and being too attached to the outcome. This is a big no-no. Deliberate attraction is really aligning yourself with the positive energy of the business success you want. This means no self-doubt and pessimism. However, do not fall into the trap of obsessing over this particular outcome. If you do, you will be sending out the emotion of fear, and resistance and doubting that the Universe will bring to you that which you have asked for. This might be difficult to do, especially when your business and income is at stake, but you have to learn to be unattached to the outcome.

Give up the fear and resistance and you will be on the true road.

When you are less attached to the outcome, you have more time to positively and deliberately work on the processes in your business. Yes, you will have to take action while you use the concept of the law of attraction & business. However, the action you take will be inspired by positive visualization, positive anticipation and positive thought.

Here is something to consider about taking action: The law of attraction does not work in a vacuum; you have to take action in your business, carrying out the tasks that you should be. However, this will not feel like work, once you align yourself with the positive energy of the success that you are attracting. If you are planning to launch and implement your marketing campaign, go ahead and do this. However, remember to deliberately set the intentions for what you want your campaign to achieve. If you are looking to launch a new product, take action and deliberately attract positive responses from clients.

Experiencing the law of attraction work in your life and business will give you more confidence in these theories, gradually you will then begin to attract success much more easily.

Challenges: The Bridge Back to You

Part of the human condition is to experience challenges. Whether that be physical, emotional, relational or spiritual, we all have experiences that we would not consciously choose. If it's something we would not choose, we often judge it as wrong or bad and label it as a challenge. We all have things that we wish would just go away whether that's a nagging physical condition or a nagging co-worker! However, when you view challenges merely as an annoyance, or something to take a pill for, or schedule surgery, or hope and pray it will go away, you are missing out on valuable information. This information is designed to help and support you on your evolutionary journey.

When your mind, body and life speaks to you through challenges, it's a signal that something is not working in your life. There's a disconnect - whether that be physically, emotionally, mentally and/or spiritually. The way that disconnect gets noticed and communicated is through challenges. That's the intrinsic and ingenious connectedness of your mind/body/spirit!

All challenges are merely an opportunity to reconnect - reconnect to the lost, wounded or judged parts of you.

Challenges are a way of getting your attention, letting you know that you are not owning and honoring a part of you (whether that's thoughts, feelings, beliefs, needs wants or desires). The only way for you to stay connected to that energy is through a challenge - whether that be physical challenges or a challenge in your life that does not seem to shift or resolve itself. Energetically, challenges keep you connected to parts of yourself that you are not consciously choosing to own, honor and support.

For example, have you ever found yourself judging another person harshly, saying things like, "I would never do that!" Inherent in all of us is the capacity for every emotion and the corresponding expression of that emotion whether that be in words or behaviors. When we judge another harshly, it often represents that what we see in that person is something we have disowned in us. We judge it because if we connect to that part of us, it might trigger shame or a sense of failure, or something we don't want to feel.

Challenges are the opportunity to reconnect to your soul, your body, your essence and your spirit. Nothing more and nothing less. They are here to reveal the deeper truth of yourself and your life.

When challenges are approached with curiosity and intrigue, they become a precious map guiding you to your inner treasure. So ask yourself this question, what is this challenge trying to tell me? If you are open, you will get an answer. All challenges, whether physical, emotional or spiritual, contain precious messages which are the bridge back to you.

Do People Choose Before Birth To Be Born With Genetic Disorders?

I have always said that all illness has mental roots. I have also said that any illness or disease that you contract some time after your birth can be cured, except of course, for the loss of a limb or something similar that lies outside of the inherent capabilities of the human species. These are not freak accidents of nature gone awry, but nature following the lines of consciousness as it always does, since consciousness creates nature, not the other way around.

Sometimes illness, disease, incapacities and some birth defects are adopted before physical birth for specific reasons known only to the personality later to be afflicted. These kinds of inherited genetic defects are adopted by the personality as "Life Challenges" and barring some life shattering changes; they will be with you for life. If you take this statement in the context of one life only, then it does seem that a great inequity has been perpetrated upon you. But you have all the lives that you need to solve whatever challenges are adopted in each life.

You should also remember that many people who have had cancers and other diseases have seen their illnesses disappear overnight; it's called spontaneous remission. The lesson is that "what happens to one, can happen to all. There is but one singularity in all worlds and universes, and that is All That Is/God. Otherwise, nothing exists alone, no problem is solved for one that cannot be solved for all.

Sometimes challenges not satisfactorily dealt with in a past life will be carried over into a future life, making discovery of reasons for present problems hard to understand. Genetic propensities are often acquired from the parents, but not always activated at birth, and these may or may not be triggered by any number of influences during any given lifetime.

It is important to know that genes can be altered by beliefs as cells are altered by beliefs, so in these cases where the genetic propensity points to a particular disease or illness, it is important to know that changes can be made in the genes themselves, and the disease or illness will never be activated.

It is also important to understand that the knowledge that you carry a certain designated defective gene sometimes influences whether or not it will be activated. The personality sometimes is so obsessed with concern over carrying a defective gene, that he will through his intense concentration on the genetic deficiency, will be lending energy to the very genetic condition that he hopes to avoid and thereby can facilitate the activation of that particular gene, inadvertently bringing about the illness that he so dearly hopes to avoid.

I will address your case in particular, since it is what you are most concerned with.

I don't like to say that any illness adopted before birth and present upon birth is permanent, but in many instances this is the case, but you must always remember that the illness was adopted before birth for known reasons, and if that motivation should change somewhere along the line, then the infirmity could also change course. Nothing in the universe is permanent and if fact, the universe and all within is constantly in a state of change, otherwise stagnation would reign and creativity would cease.

In order to gain a deeper understanding of these matters, it's important to realize that from "before the beginning" in your terms, the universe has always existed, and still does, in an inner realm of psychological reality (it may make you feel warm and fuzzy about it if I called this inner universe heaven), and the so-called big bang was not some accidental freak of nature, it was instead, a psychological emergence, a triumph of consciousness forcing itself into a new kind of reality, physical matter. All matter is filled with consciousness.

You have said that it seems that consciousness is the result of some larger framework of happening and to you it seems to be capricious, and have no purpose, being an accident in the slippery hands of chance, a random happening without any rhyme or reason.

Consciousness always comes first, and all that you perceive came from consciousness. Consciousness creates matter, matter does not evolve consciousness. The universe is of good intent, and I know that may sound preposterous, but it's so. The universe leans in your direction, whether you realize it or not. By you, I mean all of the physical world and its creatures. It's easier for good events to materialize than negative events, and I realize that you can probably present much evidence to the contrary, but that is for another story.

In this case, you, my dear reader, like it or not, are an eternal being, and certainly that is hard for me to explain. Life at any level includes a series of challenges, bringing forth creativity and creativity is the driving force behind all reality systems. All entities, including yourself, creates your own reality, then examines, explores, and lives amongst what you have created until your creations become mundane and you create something new.

You believe, you think, you expect and you get. Always in that order.

You have lived more lives than you know, and if you doubt that statement, go find yourself a good professional hypnotist experienced in age regression hypnosis and they will be able to acquaint you quite easily with past lives that you cannot consciously recall.

You have lived many past lives and you will live many future lives, but always as new personalities. Reincarnation does not infer the repetitive recycling of the same personality over and over into eternity. I know this because no new emerging personality, I mean any new consciousness, new to physical reality experience, would have ever taken on such a challenge as you are presented with at this time.

With every incarnation, a new personality is formed around characteristics of the past personality, but those characteristics remain latent and cannot interfere with the free development of the new personality that takes over from the past personality. The past personality steps aside after the inner work is completed.

All life experiences, memories, past loves, acquaintances, knowledge of past family, and general knowledge is retained and passed on, infused in the genetic structure of the new emerging personality. I will not go into where the past personality goes or does at this time, for we are only concerned with the chain of life as it led up to your present life experience, and why your life is experienced as it is.

I must digress for a minute here to tell you that the universe has meaning and purpose, the world as you know it has meaning and purpose, the soul has meaning and purpose and by inference, you have meaning and purpose, whether you know it or not.

You cannot believe your way out of your meaning and purpose, even if you believe that none exists, even the belief that there is no purpose to life, will become your purpose. You are a small but necessary part of the fabric of the universe, and your every motivation in life whether it is mental or physical, changes everything in the universe.

Your consciousness cannot be negated, diminished or extinguished once infused with self awareness by the soul, it is eternal, but don't worry, rest periods are built in, you call these periods death, so every new life is refreshed and anxious to embark on a new adventure when that time comes. And for those still immersed in religious dogma, it is impossible to lose your soul, since you are your soul in physical clothing and you cannot lose yourself.

Obviously, the questions and observations you pose could not adequately be answered in an entire book, but we will continue and hopefully clear up some of these matters. I must tell you, that I don't anticipate changing your outlook with one simple article, but maybe give you some hope and hopefully tweak your interest enough to begin reading about illness and creation of the personality that may add some food for thought.

What I write about is not common knowledge, but rest assured, it comes from a source far more knowledgeable than myself. That personality exists in other realms than you and I. I simply pass on what I learn in the hopes that some will intuitively begin to "get a clue". You cannot understand what is said here with the intellect alone, since the information does not originate in this world, but outside of it, so the use of your intuitive senses is of great help.

If you think that this is your first go-around, then you will not understand this answer. You shed lives like a snake sheds its skin, but always retaining the real important stuff, your indelible psychological identity that is the YOU that you identify with. That part of you is eternal and part and parcel of that eternal being is growth, progress and creativity.

Life after life, you build on the progress or lack thereof of your past lives. If you do not understand this, then your present position will always remain an enigma, for no reasoning or logic can explain why one would choose to be born with what you refer to as a "genetic condition".

As an aside, Stephen Hawking, a quadriplegic, despite his physical difficulties, has become the pre-eminent scientist of your times, so he has risen above his challenges and triumphed over physical matter, and rest assured, his next life will not be as difficult. Much good can come out of difficulties, and in fact, in most of these cases, success is sweeter because of the challenges experienced.

I cannot, because of space restraints go into much detail in the following discussion, but will do the best I can.

Now, you create your reality, and so there is no misunderstanding, exactly what I mean is that before you are born, you, as an emissary of your soul, created a plan for your future life, which for reasons known only to you, you decided to incorporate a disability into your future plans.

You DID NOT by accident become the child of your parents as a result of their chance encounter in the back seat of a car at the drive-in theatre. You selected your parents before your birth, and also importantly, they selected you, for mutual reasons that would benefit you both. The invisible inner reality out of which your personality rises is not some sterile, unreal environment, but one of surprising activity, vivid, acute, actual and creative and it's a realm where things such as these matters are settled before the birth of any fetus.

You not only chose your parents, but you chose the general locations where they live, the kind of climate that was suitable, and most importantly, you both, you and your parents, chose a general theme for both of your coming lives. Both you and your future parents chose a theme for the anticipated coming mutual life experience, in this case where the adoption of a genetic pre-birth condition would further your and their development. Sometimes one can learn as much or more from what you might be inclined to consider lacks or failures than from triumphs.

You were aware in advance of the evidence from past lives, that your future parents carried genetic variances that would produce a genetic condition that you have at this time. I say, at this time because even genes are not immune to changes brought about in the creative process, since you create your physical body just as you create your personal environment.

In other words, although unlikely in these cases, genetic structure can be altered by the same process that brings about the emergence of the first cell of your body. Nothing is permanent in the universe. Should your life perspective change substantially; there is no reason that your genetic structure cannot be altered in a very positive way. You could say that you existed before you existed this time around.

You were right in assuming that the genetic weakness was NOT chosen by the incoming child, but by the much more evolved psychological identity present before birth. In other words, the genetic condition was initiated before even the first cell of the child (you) was formed. The child simply accepted the condition upon birth. You could say that the pre-child ordered the deficiency, to further some deeper purpose.

Finally, I want you to understand, that I realize that what I say here may sound unbelievable to you, but think about this. My story, and the story of the true nature of reality is not as simple as "God created the universe and world in six days and then was so out of breath that he had to sit down on a cloud and rest on the seventh", but my story will resonate within the hearts of those who are ready to take a step forward into a new understanding of the true nature of reality.

I wish I could devote more time to answering your questions, because they deserve answers. I can tell you this, even though life seems unfair at times, when examined in the proper perspective, you will find that it's all good. Sometimes it is not easy to ferret out the good from the bad, but once you learn that there are reasons behind everything, you will begin to look, and when you look hard enough, you will find answers.

As with Stephen Hawking, it is common for a personality to select a more relaxed and trouble free future life as a reward after completing a difficult and challenging life experience.

Consciousness is eternal, and you are consciousness, you are not your physical body. Your identity is indelible and secure.

Kid's Songs Help You Learn A Language

A fun way to learn a language is through children's songs. Just like singing the "ABC's" to learn the alphabet, singing these catchy tunes help you learn and memorize things that you may otherwise struggle with. Some nursery songs are pretty silly, but they still teach a lot about expressing yourself. Even if you don't have children to practice with, you can still enjoy these songs yourself!

If you grew up a bilingual household, you may already know some songs. You may find that, when you take a fresh look, with an adult's perspective and the incentive of learning a language, you notice all kinds of grammar, vocabulary, and idioms. Even the simplest song can teach you something new.

For example, when I was a child, my mother sung me children's songs in Spanish. One was about a little duckling (Un Patito) who could sing and dance, but then became sad and sick. My mother changed the original ending from a dead duck to a sick duck, for our sakes.

What changed the happy singing dancing duckling to a sick and dying one? The cause of his change in health had something to do with the sun, "cuando se pon el sol". Now, to convert from Spanish to English... I always thought I knew what "se pon el sol" meant, because my interpretation made so much sense to me. Ahh - the birth of Spanglish!

Children know a lot of things. I knew that "cuando" meant "when". I knew that "el sol" meant "the sun". I knew that "se pon" was a form of the verb "poner". I knew that "poner" means "to put." I knew that ducklings like the rain, because my picture books and advertisements showed ducks happily splashing in puddles, wearing little rain suites.

This made things perfectly clear! The sun was "put" ("se pon") in the sky! Yes, of course - the duckling would sing and dance in the dark rainy cloudy weather, and became sad when the sun was "put" in the sky, meaning when it came out from behind the clouds!

Make sense? Yes, to a child... And, yes, to me as an adult who was never corrected in her childhood translation. Actually "se pon el sol" does not mean the sun is appearing. Quite the contrary; it means the sun is setting!

As I delve into the inner workings of these nursery rhymes in Spanish, I grow to love them even more. Better yet, this creates more special moments with my mother, and gives us both a really good laugh!

Kids's songs are a wonderful resource to learn another language. Your children, grandchildren, and parents will enjoy them with you. You can honor your heritage and pass it on, or expand your cultural depth with a language that is new to you. Doing this is plain old good for the heart.

Easy Ways to Simplify Your Life

Getting Your Life In Order Through Personal Development

Think about what you want most out of your life. This could be your career or maybe where you want to live eventually. Try to imagine exactly what would make you happy and identify things you can do to get there. Nothing will happen overnight, but once you figure out what would make you happy, you will be better equipped to start working towards it.

Make a list of all of your goals that get you moving in the right direction. No matter how small the goals are, write them down. If you want to be more fit, you could make it a goal to take a walk every day. Maybe your main goal is to run every day, so by starting with walking, you are able to build up your stamina. Figure out exactly what you want to do and make sure you are working towards that.

Once you identify your goals and start working on them, don't get discouraged and stop. It may be easy to give up, but you have to be ambitious about your goals. If you start to feel like you cannot reach a goal, ask yourself if you're just giving up or if you really need to rethink that goal. Things take time and work, so never give up on what you want to do. Think of how easy it will be once you get to where you want to be.

Figure out what career would make you happy. Do all the research you can on this career and start planning how you can get yourself into it. You may have to take classes or maybe take a job that you don't want to get experience for the one you do want. If you're serious about getting a career you love, you are probably going to have to work hard for it. In the end, though, you will be happier so it's worth it!

What kind of lifestyle do you want to have in the future? Some people would be happy just being rich, and some people would rather not have to deal with money and material things all the time. Consider this carefully so that you can be happy. Maybe you need to change where you live because you don't like the city or you don't like the country. Whatever the case may be, you should go over this carefully so you can shape your goals accordingly.

By using these personal development skills, you will be a lot more content with things. This will allow you to become more successful in your life, so keep these tips in mind when you're working on your personal development.
